Throughout the summer I began to add stitching to the drawings. This is a piece of thumb-knitted cotton taped in place onto a drawing of a wrinkly fruit. I am still playing about with how I am going to stitch the final position of the looped cotton onto the drawing, whilst also planning how I am going to deal with the shadowy cloud in the top right section (just a sketch on the underside of the tissue right now) ... NB I am rubbish at sewing, but this is exactly what I enjoy about this work. Slightly clumsy, always a surprise - there is always opposition to the supreme control I have over the drawing. It keeps me on my toes!
Welcome to my blog, where I share what I have been doing during the week.
I have at last copied my nom-de-plume Binky McKee blog entries from here to their own blog, having given the illustration website an overhaul. Peace and tranquillity may resume here in the somewhat quieter nature of Heather Eliza's work, while Binky has her own rather more colourful Weekly. Please visit Binky McKee if you would like to visit!
