A week of beautiful weather and OS updates.
We updated our devices’ OS to Mojave this week. It took all day on Wednesday, then until Friday to fix the usual issues of apps not responding and unhappy scanners and cameras following a major update. For the better part of three days I was unable to work normally, but sunshine always pulls me outdoors anyway and I put my pop-up tent up in the garden, covered with a blanket for shade and sat in it drawing and painting whenever I could.
Summery weather also means work in the garden, plus the opportunity to launder and line-dry large items such as dressing gowns, dog blankets and throws. All in all it was a busy week and difficult to get into a proper work flow, but I was grateful for the peace of my tent. I got these 4 drawings done:
- An interesting rooty branch of ivy which came down during hedge cutting on Monday.
- The fascination of sprouting chestnuts on Tuesday, plus spent iris blooms folding themselves away to make room for new blooms.
- On Friday I was attracted by a slender branching ivy stem exposed after hedge cutting.
So, in spite of technology it has been a wonderfully outdoorsy week, and the house is fragrant with clean linen and flowers.
Thanks for visiting, see you next week!
The paintings I made are on The Weekly on my illustration website Binky McKee.
Welcome to my blog, where I share what I have been doing during the week.
I have copied blog entries created under my nom-de-plume Binky McKee to their own blog. It can be found on my illustration website, Binky McKee.
