Christmas is coming fast now. The guest house is fully booked (my day-job), family arriving in a few days, food delivery and preparation, gift wrapping and postage; it's busy. This is a photo of gifts I have been making today. I started at 6am with only a vague idea of what I was going to do, and from that tentative beginning, in the general way of creative flow, it expanded and developed as the day progressed. Ideas fed on ones that came before; I made over 40 of these, and by the end of the day I was producing large scale, double-sided, full-on BLING for Christmas trees for my friends in an efficient ergonomic river of creativity.
It's now getting on for midnight, boxes are packed and labelled for myHermes collection tomorrow, and I am tired but happy.
It's extremely satisfying, and while the activity has been what might be termed as 'craft' the creative flow is immensely stimulating. I hate to make the distinction; I think it's all the same thing in the end; art, craft, drawing, development. It all comes from the same place, that deep well inside all of us. I don't know why it has to be classified.
Blog posts may not be regular in the coming weeks - I may even take a blog holiday until January, but if anything interesting happens I will post my Drawing A Day when I get the chance, and if anything really interesting happens you will know it here!
